Harvest Interns is more than your standard Gap Year Program. It is a highly intentional, full time program that is centered around personal development, spiritual growth and leadership. It is a year where young people (ages 17-23) are able to take the opportunity to build foundations that will help guide and direct them for the rest of their lives - both practically and spiritually.

MORE ABOUT THE INTERN EXPERIENCE
We believe that you become the best you when you have Jesus at the centre.
Spiritual and personal growth is at the core of the internship program. The students will attend Harvest College - a bible college that operates out of Kloof Harvest every Tuesday and Wednesday. Here they will be exposed to practical theology relevant to the world that we live in and help form a solid foundation in the Word of God. They will also be discipled and mentored by key leaders on our Kloof Harvest Staff.
One of the aims of the intern program is to stretch and bring out the God-given gifts and talents within each student. It is a year of FIRSTS where they will encounter a steep learning curve and their skills will be grown and refined. This is done through their exposure and involvement in the various different initiatives run out of Harvest. They will have sessions with a qualified Life Coach, be exposed to the marketplace, have the opportunity to learn from businessmen and be encouraged to dream big, work hard and do all things with excellence. They have to set up small business to raise funds, run and coordinate big fundraising events and much for. We also believe that each person is creative in their own way thus all students attend Creative College on a Tuesday. We focus on bringing out the creativity in our students and stretching them!
All the students will partake in various leadership roles throughout the year, be exposed to team building exercises as well as attending the Global Leadership Summit where they get the chance to learn from various Leadership experts from around the world. They will be in a high-challenge environment where servant-leadership is promoted and modelled.
Another BIG part of the year is our mission work that takes place during the holiday season. There will be 4 trips during the year that will make up approximately 2 months of the program. Destinations include Mozambique, Lesotho, Shongweni and an abroad trip. We have been to a number of places in the past such as Uganda, India, Zambia and China.

An exciting new addition to our program, the academy is made up of 4 streams:
Trulife (trulife.org.za), a non-profit organization that works into schools around the city using high-quality on-stage productions that align with the LO syllabus. Trulife has performed to over 120 000 students and are making a huge impact in our nation.
Ingane Yami (inganeyami.com), a children’s village based in the Shongweni valley that rescues orphaned and abandoned babies and raises them in a loving family environment. There are more than 15 children in the village and it is GROWING!
Media Internship, a time where students with existing interest in the fields of photography, videography, graphic design and music production will get a chance to have their skills honed and applied in a real-world environment. They create phenomenal work and many past students have taken media on as a profession after their exposure to this academy.
Our Giba outreach takes place in the Dassenhoek/Shongweni area where students help in the community. They work into the schools, facilitate the Neema reading program, build homes, renovate creches, carry water, prayer walk and anything else that is needed in the community.
